the picnic quilt

Just a short post to show a picture of my quilt I am working on. I joined the old red barn co.'s quilt along and have been enjoying the quilt along. This is my first attempt at machine quilting that is not just stitching in the ditch. Wow this will take a little bit, but I think I will have lots of practice when I am done and maybe can finish the quilting on the tie-dye quilt. Lots of fun.

His Chair

The recliner we have had for most of our married life is on it's last leg, it is sad. This is the chair that dh has read stories to the girls in and looked at I spy books with the girls in. So many memories in this chair. We have a new chair that is wooden with cushions but it is not padded on the sides like the recliner. Our poor Jack Russell who has only known this chair all his life is still trying to figure out what to do about laying down in that chair. He has always liked to curl up where the sides and back meet. We may just have to get him a pillow for that spot. Poor dog.

new puppy visits

The New Puppy Visits

Well what a whirlwind weekend the dd brought home her new puppy Maverick and he is cute. He played with the boys and had a good time with them, except for Joules just being so big he scared him. Scooter had fun playing chase with Maverick around the couch. DD's car was repaired from the oil change place tearing it up, then they were back off to college.
